About

Bio

La Belle Sauvage Studio is about affect, empowerment and connection. Working with public, performance and social dance art as active and accessible forms of change-making and cultural democracy. Meeting “non-arts” audiences where they’re at by devising inclusive, improvisational approaches in non-arts spaces and places. Exploring how affective public and performance art can be a catalyst for personal and social transformation. Uncovering possibilities and potential of somatic and socially engaged methodologies to understand our connection to ourselves, each other and changing environments. Using practice-as-research to understand true impacts of engaging with underrepresented art audiences, with autoethnography as a lens into individual and collective experience. Motivated by collaborations that are greater than the sum of their parts, unexpected encounters and interventions in the public realm that transcend barriers to transformative experiences.
